Large antique wooden pharmacy drawer with compartments
6 compartments
Found in the cellars of a pharmacy in Paris, which served as a laboratory and storage space for pharmacists to prepare their magistral preparations from 1900 to 1950.
Originally, it was supposed to be part of a large storage unit that has now disappeared; only a few drawers remain, which were used as storage for the products and glass bottles in this cellar.
Can be used as a display unit, a curiosity shelf to fill!
The drawer is vintage with traces of the passage of time, drips, stains, etc. See photos
Dimensions:
Height: 48cm - Width: 34.5cm - Thickness: 9.5cm - Depth of the boxes: 8.5cm
Beautiful work: dovetail assembly. The original metal handle is still present.
The presence of internal separators suggests that it was used to store dry products, roots or herbs for example. The fact that the inner walls were rough allowed the wood to breathe, which was crucial for the conservation of officinal plants.
Weight: 2.5kg!
