Published under several deliveries of plates by Victor MASSON, bookseller-publisher. The publisher had the plates printed by packs of 4 lithographs with their explanatory texts to obtain at the end an Atlas which included 240 plates.
Good condition, always vivid colors. Some rare foxing.

There are defects on the superimposed boards; the outer board, which was the man's torso, is missing, as are the lungs, which were above the heart. The left hand is missing, the arm being torn.
