Coat of arms & Motto: D'or with two sand chevrons, at the curved edge of the same. Motto: THINK ON (Think about it / Remember). In the crest, an armed arm raised brandishing at the end of a sword the severed head of a Moor. This striking crest illustrates the 15th-century legend that Sir William McClellan killed the leader of a band of brigands terrorizing Galloway to reclaim Bombie’s family land, guided by the motto Think on.
History: Major family of Galloway (Lords Kirkcudbright).
