L'Anatomie de L'Homme is the monumental work of Dr Bourgery, who spent the last 15 years of his life working on it: Traité complet de l'anatomie de l'homme, comprenant l'anatomie chirurgicale et la médecine opératoire.
Unanimously recognised for the finesse of its drawings by the anatomist Professor Jacob, a pupil of the famous painter of the Revolution, David.
In total, this work is illustrated with 725 folio-sized lithographed plates in sixteen volumes, eight volumes of text with 2108 pages, and eight volumes of plates with 3750 individual figures. Eighty issues were published between 1831 and 1854, the last volume being published posthumously.
Volume 2 contains 99 plates.
The lithographs are always preceded by their nomenclature.
Good condition of the lithographs. Scattered foxing and wetness. Some pages partially detached. 1 wormhole crossing several pages but at the bottom of the leaf in the margin.

Extremely heavy! Weight: 4.4Kg
Period binding in need of restoration, the spine is cracked as well as the jaws, the boards are very damaged, the corners very dull, see photos.
But the interior is in good condition.
