Fossil shark tooth
The megalodon is an extinct species of shark that lived during the Miocene period, approximately 23 to 5.3 million years ago (duration: 18 million years).
Considered to be one of the most important and powerful predators to have ever existed, it could be found in all regions of the world, hence the diverse origins of the teeth found.
Provenance: Indonesia
The longest diagonal is measured at 10.2cm.
The enamel is in good condition and of a beautiful color.
The root has been restored, as is often the case with teeth from Indonesia, which are brittle and have a crack reinforced on the lower left side.
The serrations on the edge of each side of the teeth are still present!
