The plates are taken from the monumental work of Dr Bourgery who occupied there the last 15 years of his life to realize it: Complete treatise of the anatomy of man, including surgical anatomy and surgical medicine.
Unanimously recognized for the finesse of his drawings by the Professor of anatomical drawing Jacob, pupil of the famous painter of the Revolution, David.
These boards were printed in lithography in 1831
Our plates are all taken from the Second Volume, most of them are accompanied by the legend on an additional marker, but not all because there are shortcomings.
The colors are beautiful, freckles and some tears on some board
Good condition, always bright colors. Some rare foxing.

There are defects on the superimposed boards; the outer board, which was the man's torso, is missing, as are the lungs, which were above the heart. The left hand is missing, the arm being torn.
