Murex alabaster shellfish - Siratus alabaster
Murexes are scavengers, but also carnivorous predators and borers. Thanks to their radula, a kind of tongue bristling with micro-teeth that allows them to dig powerfully into the shell of their prey, and with the help of acidic secretions, they pierce it and then feed on the flesh of their prey by inserting their proboscis through the hole they have made.
