Large Puffer-Fish - Diodon on stand
The genus Diodon groups together species of fishes of the family Diodontidae having the capacity to swell. Another of their characteristics is to have spines.
When they feel in danger, Diodon inflate very quickly to frighten their aggressor. In fact they inflate by accumulating air or water in their esophagus until they take a spherical shape.
Here the eyes are replaced by shells, those called the Eye of St Lucia which is actually the operculum of a shell, the turbo.
Approximately 42cm long - Height: 28cm
The pufferfish can be removed from the base; it is simply placed on the tripod base.
