The Thorny sea urchin is a species of sea urchin belonging to the Cidaridae family, found in the Indo-Pacific basin.
The shell, called a “test,” can measure 5 cm to 8 cm in diameter, with few but particularly long radioles (spines), which are cylindrical in shape.
