An antique solid-wood drawer from a pharmacy cabinet that can be used as a storage box.
Found in Parisian cellars that served as laboratories and storage areas for pharmacists to prepare their compounded medications from the 1900s to the 1950s.
Originally, it was likely part of a storage cabinet or desk that no longer exists; only a few drawers remain, which were used to store products, blank pharmacy labels, and other office items in this cellar.
As the drawer served as a storage box, it is period-authentic with signs of wear, such as streaks, stains, etc. See photos

This drawer is sold with its contents as found when it was discovered in the basement of this Parisian pharmacy.
-Writing materials: An antique fountain pen made of marbled ebonite. Note: the cap is missing, the 18k gold nib is bent, and the mechanism is jammed with old ink.
-Office stamps: Set of 4 antique date stamps with wooden and metal handles. Note: the rubber pads are dry and cracked; for decorative use only. One functional stamp from “Pharmacie Béha - Belfort.”
-Medical curiosity: Small antique cardboard box from a Belfort pharmacy containing its original bone cannula (historical medical use for enemas). Curoxyure cannula. Oxyures are intestinal worms.

Unlike standard painted sheet metal models, this enamelled steel ‘Stop-Fire’ fire extinguisher is an industrial design piece from the Roaring Twenties, between the two world wars.
It features a magnificent logo with stylised flames, whose shades of yellow and red have retained all their vibrancy.
