Musée scolaire DEYROLLE - Original Edition of 1886 by Berce
Illustrated with 27 plates, including 26 in color
Printed under the historical address of the house at 23, rue de la Monnaie in Paris (before its final installation on rue du Bac), it contains a preface by Émile Deyrolle himself dated April 1884.
The book is complete with its 26 chromolithographed plates (Diurnes, Noctuelles, Phalènes, Crépusculaires...) as well as its technical anatomy plate in black and white (Plate A).
The Original Edition has been revised: The copy has benefited from an elegant, later half-binding in tawny leather with faux nerves highlighted by golden threads, bearing the struck title: Musée Deyrolle - Berce - Papillons. The dishes are covered with a pebbled paper.
the body of the book is entirely untrimmed, meaning that the pages have retained their slightly uneven original margins and heights, proving that the book was not trimmed during its binding. The thick, white endpapers added by the binder ensure perfect solidity of the block.
The interior: The body of the text and the margins of the plates present marked and generalized foxing typical of the papers of that time. However, the central chromolithographed engravings remain very fresh, bright and perfectly readable.
Format: In-12 (19x12.5cm)
