Kudu polished horn - Antelope
Mounted on a black steel base.
Species: Greater kudu: South African Tragelaphus strepsiceros antelope
The Great kudu, Tragelaphus strepsiceros, is an African mammal of the bovine family. This great antelope lives mainly in the mountainous regions of Chad to Sudan and at low altitude in East Africa to South Africa.
This species is not endangered and is not on the CITES list of the Washington Convention.
The horns come either from breeding farms (these antelopes are bred for their meat and skins like beef here), or from regulations intervening in the herds of the South African reserves, or from horns found in the wild.
