Engraved swordfish rostrum  from Borneo - Indonesia

The swordfish (from the Latin Gladius) owes its name to the appearance of its rostrum (or beak), which is similar to a sword blade, and its ability to split water with ease and speed. Swordfish rostrums are traditionally used for weapons in New Guinea.

This one is carved with tribal motifs.
