Conus Capitaneus shell
Indian Ocean
4-5.5cm
Description
Conus Capitaneus shell from Indian Ocean
Like all cones, it is poisonous but its injection, although painful, is not dangerous for man.
As with all other species of vermivorous cones, their very small inoculating apparatus delivers only too little venom. It is highly recommended not to handle it, you would receive a slight discharge.
Size averages of the shell: 4-5cm usually quite small
