Giant Ramose Murex shell - Murex ramosus
Murexes are necrophagous but also carnivorous predators and piercers. Thanks to their radula, a kind of tongue bristling with micro-tines, they can dig powerfully into the shell of their prey and, with the help of acid secretions, pierce it. They then feed on the flesh of their prey by inserting their proboscis through the pierced hole.
