Tube of eye spatulas

Antique pharmacy bottle

“Taxe d'Armement” label: 1939/1940

Description

Tube of eye ointment

Antique pharmacy bottle

It comes from the old basement laboratory of a Parisian pharmacy. The bottles had not been moved from the shelves since the late 1950s!

The label bears the inscription “Taxe d’armement,” a specific marking that allows us to precisely date this bottle to the World War II period between 1939 and 1940.

The tube still contains 3 spatulas inside.

Inscription molded into the glass: G.REMY PARIS

The opaline ophthalmic spatulas were intended for applying ointments and creams to the inner eyelid.

Opaline was preferred for its chemical neutrality and ease of cleaning.

The spatulas are approximately 5 cm tall.

Height of the bottle: 10.5 cm
