Eau d'Arquebuse de Notre-Dame de Bon Secours

Antique pharmacy bottle - Apothecary

Eau d'Arquebuse de Notre-Dame du Bon Secours is a herbal liqueur created in 1857 by Brother Emmanuel, a herbalist and nurse in the Marist community at the Hermitage de Saint Chamond.

Arquebuse water was supposed to heal wounds caused by arquebuses and firearms, hence its name.

With a minimum alcohol content of 50%, this vulnerary water (made from plants that heal wounds) contains 33 plants with medicinal properties.
