Antique Absinthe Spoon "Métal Aciéré Français"

Aciéré means steel-coated.

Herringbone pattern

The absinthe liqueur is poured into the glass and then the spoon with the sugar is placed on top of the glass in order to make the water flow over the sugar through the spoon, thus softening the bitterness of the drink.

Quite a ceremony!
