Sardonyx Agate Obelisk
Also known as banded agate
Origin: India
Sardonyx Agate Obelisk
Also known as banded agate.
Composed of sardonyx, which has warm colours of red and brown, and onyx, which has white or lighter bands.
Sardonyx agate comes from the chalcedony family and is distinguished by its regular bands, alternating between deep red-brown, milky white and sometimes intense black.
These natural layers, formed in the heart of volcanic rocks, give it a graphic and noble appearance, like mineral marquetry shaped by time.
In ancient times, the Greeks and Romans carved it into cameos and seals.
