Dr. Roux discovered diphtheria serum, and headed the Pasteur Institute he co-founded with Pasteur, of whom he was a close collaborator.

This sterilizable syringe for anti-diphtheria serum with its plunger has graduations on the metal body. 

This sterilisable syringe for diphtheria serum with its plunger has graduations on the metal body. 

The box still contains the plungers and washers as well as parts of the needle tube, but the plastic has broken over time.
