A more recent paper has been glued to the back of the frame with the same inscriptions
The old oval frame is in blackened wood and brass strapping, the glass is curved.
It was common in the 19th century to keep a lock of hair of the deceased as a souvenir. The uses of the time were to show the mourning contrary to today.
