Vintage box: Vacuum cleaner from Dr Potain (circa 1900)

Old cabinet: Dr. Potain's Vacuum cleaner (circa 1900).
This instrument was used to evacuate liquids, especially for pleurisy which is an inflammation of the pleura, the membrane surrounding the lungs, and which often has liquid in the pleural cavity.
It could also be used to remove urine from a retention bladder or gases from a gut strangled by a hernia. (Source: Conservatory of the hospital heritage of Rennes).
The box must be complete, the 2 rubber tubes are always present, which is rare.
Fabric covered tube.
-A steel pump with its end of two ends.
-a hollow metal double-ducted rod is branching off into two branches each with a faucet.
-Two different caliber trocars, four cannulas and three foam punches.
-1 glass tube filled with needle under the platform with trocarts..
-1 glass tube containing metal wires for needle cleaning is located in the slot under the trocars.
Case Dimensions: 27.5 x 12 x 5.5 cm: In good condition, purple velvet-lined cabinet inside.
