Victorian amputation saw of Maison MATHIEU.
Metal, brass and ebony for the handle. The blade is interchangeable. Inscription "MATHIEU A PARIS ".
It dates from the nineteenth century, because its handle in ebony with grip was no longer made by Mathieu in the 20th century. They were passed on material entirely of metal or stainless steel in whole. See the catalogue of 1907 below where there is only mention of steel saws:
The whole was waxed.
