PRAVAZ syringe: Antique glass and chrome metal syringe from the late 19th and early 20th century:
Morphine addicts in the late 19th and early 20th centuries often used this kind of elegant syringe in its small case that could be easily slipped into a pocket.
This syringe has a graduated plunger and a glass body.
A screw thread graduated from 0 to 20 allows to adjust its stroke and to measure the quantity of liquid injected. The rubber pad inside the glass body used to seal the syringe, but nowadays the pad no longer seals the syringe.
The syringe is in a small case with a felt interior that was originally purple but has now changed colour to orange-pink.
A needle with its tip is also in the case. The compartment for the metal threads to be inserted into the needle is behind the felt part of the lid, you just have to pull on the rest of the ribbon to reveal it.
Case dimensions: 7.5cmx3.1cm Height: 1.7cm
Syringe dimensions: Length 6.7cm without needle
