Powerful disinfectant that was commonly used until the 1970s.

Toilets, kitchens, etc. were commonly disinfected in Cresyl.

It was in the form of a light brown liquid that was poured directly onto the area to be disinfected.

The Cresyl gave off a special smell once familiar from public toilets.

The number 851 was engraved on the bottle
